liked it
bookshelves: author-nora-roberts, cop-fbi-thrillers, romance
Read from April 03 to 11, 2012

the story seemed simple
small American town ....
Clare a successful artists returns to pursue her art
Cameron leaves his big city cop job to be the towns sheriff...

they meet, fall in love and everyone lives happily ever after....

But there is something evil lurking in the woods and people start dying...

as an observer in the town it was hard to pin down the 'bad guys' - there were too many to chose from....

and are the women were only interested in flower beds?

Suddenly, there are too many questions

why was Clare's dad part of a secret society open only to the men in town
why did two men from that group fake his suicide?
why is Clare creating art that resembles Satanic rituals -
She had followed her dad one night as a child - but she can not remember how the night ended... did they find her?
Cameron's stepfather is implicated in a teenage runaway murder...

It is like the many threads of the story start spinning faster and faster and you are dragged along....
makes me a little afraid to ever visit a small American towns... but what a HEA moment :)
