Boring and repetitive. Everytime he got bored, he just thought the next philosophy he came across was the next big thing. I realize he was young when much of this book happened, but it doesn't make it any less annoying.

I'd also love to get some perspective on him from others. He keeps portraying himself as this great leader throughout the book, yet it seems fairly obvious that he just gets manipulated extremely easily.

Ed is an ideal follower. He is easy to win over, and thinks that doing whatever you tell him to do makes him leader of a movement. Very nice catch for the bad guys out there.
