Amazing! I am speechless. Rushdie attempted to write The Great Novel and succeeded! A complex novel about the development of a country and a character and how their destinies are intertwined. Rushdie is a great Hakawati, a story-teller, and has written a story full of wonderful and complex characters, events and happenings, meetings and relationships with a rich prose full of fabulous metaphors. I am left with a feeling that I have experienced something great, something beyond time and space. A must-read!
