it was amazing
Read from March 21 to April 15, 2012

Withholding judgment until it's finished. Don't have as much time to read these days, but trying....forever trying....

**********SLIGHT SPOILER***********

Finally finished this one after putting it aside for a couple of weeks. It was a page turner for sure. Lots of little plot twists and turns, but the ending is left open for another story line featuring a villain who just won't die despite being shot and presumed dead in a swamp.

The Bentz/Montoya partnership is not so much in the foreground as the female part of the Montoya team is. The past comes back to haunt Val in the worst kind of way, bringing lots of bad memories rushing back, sending her back into the heart and mind of her soon-to-be ex, making it difficult for them to part ways after all.

I really enjoyed this engrossing tale of mystery, secrets and murder. No points where the story drags, no gaps in time to leave to our imagination to fill in, sound character construction. I would recommend this one to mystery fans!
