I found this book fascinating. This author really got to know her characters and she explains to us and them what really went on back in 1951, laying out the moral dilemmas in a very nuanced and real way. Plus there is a strong connection with Maryland and Johns Hopkins in my family, AND when she was working on the book the author lived in Pittsburgh and taught at Pitt. As they say, a riveting read!
