Freddoso is a writer for the National Review online, and his conservative opinions are evident throughout the work. He doesn't hide his opinions, and even says his book may serve to endear liberals to Obama. I found the chapters on Obama's political connections and work as a local congressmen to be both insightful and fascinating. Freddoso puts many pieces together from local Chicago newspapers to present Obama as anything but a reformer. He gives concrete examples of Obama's refusal to stray from politics as usual. I believe that you should read Obama's books, Audacity of Hope and Dreams From My Father first and then The Obama Nation before reading this book to gain a full perspective on Obama as the possible next President of the United States.
