This is the second book in the series and it is still freaking awesome! It is just as good as the first, if not better. Kendra still has that charm that I love in leading heroine's, major butt kicking, but in this book she's a bit broken too. Not in the way that she is crying and freaking out after losing Ryder, but she found her magic at a moment when she lost someone and in a way, it has broken the confident ass kicking chick, because now she leans heavily on it, when before she used her own strength not others. When she lost Ryder, she lost herself, and decided she was sondaleur, and was going to save everyone, except for herself.

This book had a bigger picture and a much higher stakes for Kendra, and unfortunately in the end there were casualties from lack of understanding and education, but in the end Kendra will grow from the experience, but at a loss. One thing that is great about her character is that she may get punched and hit down but she gets back up and she keeps on fighting for what she believes in.
