The three story strands never come together to form one beautiful story. In the end, they remain three disparate story strands. They leave the reader with the sense of having read something beautiful, but also something rather pointless.

I feel a little misled...as if we were building up to a satisfying full circle conclusion that never really materialized and that was frustrating.

I listened on CD, so I admit to drifting off a bit in the middle. The reader was breathless the whole way through and I kept waiting for the big finish to each story. She was the opposite of monotone and not in a good way. Even looking out of the window on the train was told as if something BIG was about to happen, and it never did. I kept waiting and waiting....
