** spoiler alert ** A Brave New World should be required reading is high school Political Science classes instead of English class. This scary vision of the future written some 80 years ago, kicked off a genera of futuristic "Utopian" societies that were run by overly controlling governments where freedom is generally non-existent and the population is controlled by being convinced to overly drug themselves. There are several aspects of this book that are eerily similar to political, medical and social trends today. A good companion read for those that like Orwell's "1984" and similar books like "The Giver". One of the "classics" that I feel belongs on the list.
