I received this book for free as part of the Goodreads First Reads giveaways. I did not particularly enjoy this book. I have read other reviews where the reviewers really liked the story and identified with the main character. I did not identify with the main character, but that may be because I am not in my 40s, married or have children. The author has tried to keep the storyline current by using things like Facebook statuses and Twitter tweets as part of the storytelling format. I appreciate the use of current technologies, but it all just fell a little flat for me.
This book is about a very specific event in a person's life - namely, when a couple has been married a long time and needs to be reminded not to take each other for granted. I just didn't feel any urgency in the married couple's relationship. I don't have to have all drama all the time, but a little more tension there would have helped me to care more about the characters.
