did not like it

Finished! I still don't much like Robbins. He drones on and has not a drop of respect for the metaphor. Rather than use them sparingly, to make beautifully illustrated points, he pulls them all out of the bag and lays them on the floor, grabbing and throwing in whatever wherever. It's annoying and boring. I only became interested in the story toward the last quarter, or so, of the book. The man could use a good editor.

And I haven't touched on his raging misogyny. This, clearly, is a man who does not like women. I've tried to read several of his books and am always stopped by his creepiness toward woman. It's no different in Jitterbug Perfume. He writes about women as if they were walking vaginas and nipples. I have Skinny Legs and All sitting there looking at me. Maybe I'll try that one again, too, but first I need to read something good.
