Read from March 19 to 21, 2012

This is one of those books that's hard to describe without spoiling things, but I will do my best. Ray used to be a photographer (and a really good one) but now he's working as a fake-paparazzo for events (bar mitzvahs, etc.). Sounds pathetic, right? It is. He knows it. Megan is a suburban mom with a secret. Jack is a detective who is obsessed with a cold case---a married father of two disappeared and has never been seen again. So what's the connection?

Harlan Coben is one of my must-read authors. I will preorder his books the second I can without even knowing what they're about. (Doesn't matter, really; I know I'll love them.)

His books are always wonderful but also incredibly suspenseful. I don't read very many mysteries these days, but I will always read his (and generally the first minute I can start one, I will).

This book is probably one of his best, which is saying something. I loved Megan and Jack. I wish we had had a little more from Ray, but since there's no way to do that without losing time with Megan and Jack, I support the way things were set up.

I always like to try and guess what's going on and had several theories with this book, none of which ended up being true.

If you love mystery/suspense novels, absolutely read this one. Just try not to start it too late at night; you won't be able to stop reading.

If you haven't read any Harlan Coben, this is a good one to start with (or you can start with my favorite, Tell No One).

Highly recommended.
