Winter Journal
by Paul Auster
by Paul Auster
I think Auster's telling (not showing) voice lends itself to non-fiction/memoir a lot better than his fiction in recent years. At times this book felt a little insubstantial, but there were more than enough tender moments and beautiful passages to make up for any lack. He also does a great job of framing the story around his 'body,' that is, the book comes off as a catalog of all the sensations that have occurred to him throughout his sixty plus years.
