I'm conflicted about this one: in many ways it's the most well-written Sookie Stackhouse novel, but in others it's the least eventful. Nothing really happens until the last 10% of the book and so much that came before it adds up to little more than red herrings. Still, I like that the series has become weightier, although one does have to wonder if everything will collapse in a heap. I think there are only supposed to be three more books after this, so let's hope that Harris can, as they say at the AV Club, stick the landing.
