This one is great. A fine mixture of naval and political history of the early national period. Naval history is sometimes hard to read if it is really comprehensive since it is made up of long periods of sitting in port refitting and replenishing, followed by long periods of saling around the ocean, followed by very short and very violent battles with death and destruction and valor all around, overseen by a bunch of politicians who know little of any of this and who complain all the time about taxes. This one follows the same pattern, but is really done well. Highly recommended.
