Chuck has a lot of small problems that all add up to one huge problem. He has OCD and is regarded as unbearably weird by almost everyone in his high school. His parents have tried to get him to try some medicine or therapy to curb his compulsions. He refuses until the one thing happens that can get a teenage boy to change his mind. A pretty girl smiles at him. She is new to the school so she doesn't know about Chuck's quirks. He decides to try and keep it that way.
I greatly enjoyed this book. Very funny at times yet still manages to be sweet. Everyone feels like a weirdo in high school anyway but this kid has a leg up. Plus, as Chuck notices in the book everyone thinks they have "a little OCD" too.
This one will probably be a hit in a high school library with those pesky boys. Obviously, Chuck is a boy and has some very boy-like thoughts. Especially regarding pretty girls and the usual main area of interest for teenage boys. Do y'all get where I'm going with this? Librarians/teachers just be aware that the possibility of a challenge comes with this book. But don't let that stop you, some people will challenge anything.
