it was amazing

This was an experiment by Sanderson where he actually shared the drafts of this book online before it was even finished. I remember it because I read one of the last drafts just to see if the guy finishing WoT is up to the task. I was at the time writing my thesis and needed to concentrate during the day time so when I found this books draft online I decided I'll just give it a whiff and read the first 100 pages or so and then go to sleep.

The hell I did. At 7 AM in the morning after I had read through over half of the book I fired up my e-mail client and wrote a long e-mail to Brandon saying what I thought about the book and him. A few weeks later he replied and was quite happy about the feedback and didn't feel sorry at all for disturbing my thesis writing, neither was I as I had found yet another author that writes excellent books and where I don't even have to think if I see a new book from him, I'll just buy it because I know it's worth it.

So much about my personal backstory about it. It's a wonderful single book about countries that have to keep an alliance intact in a world where the two have a cardinally opposite view on magic. And yet again, the magic of this book is utterly different from what you are used to (the whole magic systems thing is a speciality of Brandon as he's got a different system in almost every book). It's a great read with plenty of action, humor, drama and some romance in it. You'll love it and will probably continue reading Sanderson after this book.
