The concept of "55 Essential Rules" may seem a bit extravagant, but I honestly never saw this book as a long list of guidelines. Instead, his rules provided a framework for strategies that have worked (and sometimes failed) in the classroom. This book gives advice and stories on how to deal with both unruly students and parents and the best ways to approach delicate situations. I feel that reading this book will have a great impact on my classroom management skills in my quickly-approaching career. Having just got back from a trip to the Ron Clark Academy, I can testify firsthand that this man knows what he's doing. Whether or not you agree with all of his methods doesn't matter, this man knows how to get results. This book was truly an inspiration (and a really quick read!) so I definitely recommend it to any future educators.
