This was actually a pretty good story! It started out a little slow because the dialect was rather strong, but once I got into the plotline it became very interesting. It had a very "country" feel about it, which seemed to make the characters all the more endearing. They also had faults, some more than others, which made them realistic and believable. It wasn't a fast-paced novel, but "life" isn't necessarily a rushed page-turner. The characters and their feelings were developed into deep, emotional relationships. The plotline took some pretty serious turns, which I honestly didn't see coming, but I will say that I was happy with the ending. Overall, it was a surprisingly good classic!
