Sloan frustrated the hell out of me. She wanted to prove she was independent, but to me she just came off as bitchy and immature. It takes a real man or woman to not only admit they need help, but to accept it. Poor Lucas had his work cut out for him with her. She was just too closed off and the romance seemed forced – not fluid.

I liked Lucas. I thought he was a good man looking for redemption, although unnecessarily. I am all for the tortured heroes, and he had some stuff with him, so it was good seeing him work through his issues.

The action and suspense were pretty good, and in my opinion that salvaged the story. I just wasn’t feeling the relationship between Lucas and Sloan and I’m hoping I connect more with the next book in the series.
