I loved this book! Connie Willis' writing seems nearly tailor-made for me. This one is sort of related to "To Say Nothing of the Dog" in that they both use the same "Net" for time-travel. In this book, a grad student is sent back to medieval times, but something goes wrong, and she arrives at the wrong time. Meanwhile, back in the future, a massive epidemic is causing panic and quarantine during Christmas in Oxford.

I love the combination of sci-fi and historical fiction. It was an exciting, satisfying read. Also, if you're interested in the plague or in gross medical stuff, the historical segments are awesome.
