"The Lord Takes Care of Babies and Fools!!!!!!!" This quote constantly came to mind while I was reading this novel. The trials and tribulations that Jeannette went through as a child was beyond horrific!!!!!! Words cannot accurately express or describe her childhood. The resaon for the 2 star rating was because of the content of the novel. It was very well-written, however, the subject matter was horrible. I would not recommend it to anyone unless I want them to be utterly depressed. I do hope that Jeannette has gotten some mental help to deal with how her childhood has affected her. Something should have been done about her parents' mental disfunctions. No child should have lived the way she and her siblings grew up.

Debbie This is on my list.. curious to see what you think? ;o)

Davina Bell Hey Debbie,

I just received you message about The Glass Castle. I thought it was very well written, but the subject matter was emotionally draining. If you are looking for a read to relax, this is definitely NOT it. At times, I wanted to take and through it across the room. In fact, some of the things that happen to Mrs. Wall was hard to stomach. If you decide to read it, beware of the strong emotional reaction you will have.
