This Caldecott Medal-winning book was written in 1947, and tells a quiet tale of a soft, gentle snow blanketing a town. The town policeman, farmer and postman all get ready to work in the snow, while the town children enjoy the fun that snow brings. The sweet, almost poetic story is enhanced by the blocky, three color watercolors, depicting the last snowstorm before spring. A lovely winter read aloud.
