My sister recommended Prodigal Summer to me, saying that while it has flaws, she simply loved it. I loved it as well, which surprised me because normally I have a fairly hard time getting invested in stories told from multiple points of view. That simply was not a problem with Prodigal Summer, largely, I think, do to the artistry of Kingsolver's language (which is very simple and utterly stunning) and to the intimacy with which she portrays her characters.
