Read from March 15 to 21, 2012

This book combines two characters that Dana Stabenow writes, Kate Shugak and Liam Campbell. There is a murder in Campbell's territory and he wants his wife exonerated so he hires Kate to do an investigation. The murder is rather straight forward and you know who did it before you even read halfway but it's nice to catch up with the likable characters. Liam's wife is never really considered a suspect so it was an insipid bait. The only quibble I have with the series is the author loves her characters too much. Kate is always the most beautiful person in the world. In this book, the George Clooney character is immediately attracted to her but she turns her back on him. Hah! Liam is, of course, more handsome than the Clooney character. I just wish she would let characters be normal. It'd be a better series.
