Should someone place Lynn Weingarten upon a rack and threaten to add a few inches to her height the old-fashioned way, I'm not sure even she could explain the motivations of the characters in The Secret Sisterhood of Heartbreakers, so please don't expect me to be able to.

The one spot of consistency in a narrative where personalities seem to vacillate from scene to scene is "heroine" Lucy, who manages to be consistently pathetic in her desperation to reclaim her jerk of an ex-boyfriend. Yay her. (Perhaps she's in a Secret Sisterhood with Bella Swann?)

What's truly terrifying here is that mixed into the utter bullshit preached by the Heartbreakers there's just enough truth (What does every guy respond to? Being liked.) to make their schtick seem vaguely reasonable. Unlike, say, the plot.
