I think that this would be a great book to include in a classroom to incorporate diversity of home lives. Not every child has a home they return to after school that includes a mom and a dad. I think this book would both prove to be valuable for students who are going through similar situations, as well as students who are totally unfamiliar with this type of occurrence. It could give some children characters to relate to and other children characters to expose them to situations they may not be able to directly relate to. I thought it was well written and I think I would enjoy reading other of Woodson's books as well.
