This is a wonderful collection of love stories. Some I've read before but I was happy to read them again ('The Dead' by James Joyce and 'The Lady and the Little Dog' by Chekov). Others were new to me and they were lovely discoveries - 'First Love and Other Sorrows' by Harold Brodkey, 'Natasha' by David Bezmozgis, and 'Some Other, Better Otto' by Deborah Eisenberg. The last story is by Alice Munro and is perhaps my favorite of the collection - 'The Bear Came Over the Mountain' which is poignant and sadly sweet.
