A breathtaking conclusion to another amazing series by Rick Riordan.

I never knew I would love a Rick Riordan series this much, after Percy Jackson and The Olympians. Boy was I so wrong. Carter, Sadie, Walt and Zia are characters that I've grown to love after a span of three books, with all the snarkiness, humour, wit and and more importantly, the adventures they embark on.

In The Serpent's Shadow, Apophis is still looming in the horizon, trying to destroy the world. Bringing Ra back didn't work at all and both Sadie and Carter have to figure something out to destroy Apophis for good. As usual, this involves a lot of chaos, deaths, sacrifices, betrayals and harrowing events. Without revealing too much of the plot, I really enjoy all the twists and turns, from the solution to destroying Apophis, the journey to find that solution to the final fight. The book never lost my attention until the very end. And boy am I glad that two of my OTPs ended up together, one in a particularly ingenious way which I did not see coming.

All in all, this was one hell of a ride and I'm really content to have been on it.
