I finally found an author to fill my Picoult void. I was getting burnt out of Picoult, but liked the types of books she writes. Chamberlain fills the need. And like Picoult, she has hits and misses. This isn't as good as Secret Life of Cee Cee Wilkes or The Midwife's Confession. But it was engaging, I liked most of the characters, and it was a fast read for me. However, I didn't understand the obsession with Annie--everyone was enthralled by her and I just wasn't. And it was a little convoluted. But a decent read by an author I really like.
