Definitely a book worth keeping around. I thought the comparisons about the freedom (or lack thereof) that Americans give their kids in comparison with other European nations was fascinating. No wonder kids are obese and have such video game addictions--their parents won't let them DO anything. Would I let my 9-year-old ride the NY subway by myself? No. But I would let them walk to school, provided there were sidewalks and no sex offenders on the route.
