Read for my Writing from History class. I adore everything about this book. Willie basically effs up her life, has to come home to a fictionalized version of Cooperstown, and then goes on a quest to discover who her real father is. In the process, she digs in to her own family history and the history of the town. Characters from James Fennimore Cooper (named Jacob Franklin Temple in this book) novels appear, as do letters and diary entries and photographs and paintings of Willie's family members. The Lake Glimmerglass Monster ties them all together in a really beautiful way, too.
