Ripper is one of the most exciting historical thrillers I have read in a long time. Young Carver is an orphan in 1895 New York City and thrilled to learn that he is being adopted by Mr. Hawking a famous Pinkerton detective. Carver has grown up reading detective novels and soaking up everything he can get his hands on about becoming a investigator. When he reads his file to get more information about his father and then becomes part of the investigation into a new series of murders in New York Carver may has reason to think the two may be linked. Teddy Roosevelt is the new police chief and intent on solving these crimes without anyone getting in his way including Carver the rest of the Pinkertons. Can Carver learn the identity of the killer and stop these murders as well as learn the truth about his father? Is the killer really Jack the Ripper? As Teddy Roosevelt would say - this makes for a bully good read and one that you will not be able to put down.
