Abi Right!?! :)

Matt Stalter So, my wife doesn't think so, but is this book something I should talk about in a job interview?

Abi Good question... I think that talking about a book like this and how excited you are or the ideas you took away from it and want to implement shows that you have energy, bring innovative ideas, and will connect with teachers beyond your school community. At some schools, that might be a plus. At others, they might not want to hire someone who won't toe the line (especially as a new teacher). So, it's hard to say. Depends on the vibe, and it depends on the kind of school environment you're looking for. I know right now, realistically, the desired school environment is, "One where I have a job." (I think I'll have trouble NOT talking about this and/or the online communities I've joined in an interview, but that's more abstract since I haven't started my MAT program yet. I'm going to throw the question out on Twitter!
