Hmm.... not bad at all .

Royal Street is set in New Orleans in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Catrina : apprentice sentinel DJ suddenly becomes the sentinel for the city after her mentor mysteriously disappears . Meanwhile , out in Old Orleans (the beyond) , old Voodoo gods have ambitions.....

This is an easy read , but well-crafted . Personally I'd have liked a little less angst , but the ideas & the writing is good - and it's got Louis Armstrong in it.....!

Worth a look.
