I lost this book. Er, well, my brother lost it. It was two weeks overdue before I found the book, and while I hurried to read it on the way to the library, unfortunately I couldn't manage to finish it. So I have maybe twenty pages left.

That said, I'm a bit so-so about it. Other reviewers have said it is a boy's book, and that's true. It's also a lot more Children's than YA, and despite my love of YA, I tend to have a harder time getting into Children's books.

I have a feeling something bad is going to happen at the end, but I'm not sure. I adore Wendelin Van Draanen, so I really want to finish this book. She is a good author, and I think it's more that I don't fit the demographics for this book than any issue with the book itself. If you happen to be or have a boy of about eight to twelve, then by all means, read this book -- or have him read it. Heck, if you're a girl in that age range, read it too. But as an adult, I suppose I expected more than I've got so far.
