I agree with some past reviewers who have said this book is a bit cliche. What is the biggest stereotype about Russians? They drink a lot of vodka and eat borscht! Does that happen in this novel? Yes! So I agree that the author could have delved in a little deeper there, but all in all a cute read. I liked the use of language a lot. Usually reading accents bugs the crap out of me (see The Help)but this was fun b/c it was little kids Russian kids learning English so there little stumbles and quirks were really endearing. The chapter headers were a lot of fun - the author would entitle big sections with basically what was going to happen - a little bit artsy and I'm sure some people hate that kind of foreshadowing but I thought it was interesting. The ending seemed kind of abrupt and rushed, but I liked it and look forward to see more of this lady's writing in the future.
