It felt chopped up and uneven in pace. The last chapter is exciting but also overdrawn. Apparently characterization is not his strong suite, and I can see why people say that, with a bunch of cardboard characters flitting in and out of scene with virtually no impact. Overall, the title is probably the best thing about it. Disappointing introduction to one of sci-fi's greatest. :/
