Though this book was well-written, articulate, and hopeful, I nonetheless ended up feeling a bit managed, if you know what I mean. Although he tells us a great deal about himself, he actually says very little about what he stands for or what he would do if elected to higher office. I know, he's a politician, what can I expect? I guess from him I was expecting a bit more. As a committed leftist, I also was a bit disturbed that, whereas he opposed the second Iraq war, he pretty staunchly defends the first one, which was every bit as immoral, in my opinion. Still and all, I can't point to another politician out there who would be willing and/or capable of writing a book as cogent and honest as this one. Heck, I would vote for the guy just to have someone to listen to that doesn't make my skin crawl when he speaks. See, when I lower my standards far enough, even I can be pleased! This book is definitely worth a read. Enjoy.

Morris Interesting, I had a hard time getting through this book. That being said, it was articulate and literate. I wish that he could keep the same tone throughout the campaign. I will vote for him but it is concerning to me that it is more a vote for change than an actual endorsement. I keep reminding myself that the President, whether you liked his politics or not, is only as effective as the people he surrounds himself with.

Peg n Lon I think it is tacky, yes, tacky to turn our literature page into a political forum but oh, well, I'll blame it on your upbringing - you were taught to think for yourself. Pegnlon

Morris Mom, you taught us that everywhere is a political forum.

Reid Mo: Fortunately, I think one of his talents is surrounding himself with good people. I know, he has had a few rotten apples during his campaign, but the damage they did was limited, and that is one of this skills too, or seems to be.

Mom: Isn't all art political?

Reid By the way, Mom, I note that one can flag comments for abuse. Maybe tackiness is considered abuse of the site. You could give it a try! ;-}
