A very good read.

I like Doyle's style, but I made the mistake of watching the TV Series first.
If you're reading these books because of the Tv series, let me make something clear - the relationship between John Watson and Sherlock Holmes, their whole dynamic, is entirely different.
I feel like the characters in the books fall kind of flat. We don't see different aspects of their personalities - Sherlock is clever, John is gasping with admiration, ok, we get it! In the TV series we could see much more from their characters, habits and the way they react in a trully active environment.

Nevertheless, I liked the books; they were smart, interesting and funny.
