Zombies And Shit is the first of Carlton Mellick's novels that I've finished. I'm currently reading at least three others at the moment.

Zombies And Shit has an introduction by Brian Keene, in which Keene says that this novel will make you remember why you fell in love with the genre in the first place. And he's a thousand percent right.

The book isn't so much about the zombies as it is about the people, as any good zombie fiction is.

Mellick takes it up a notch with the concept of reality television set in the zombie wasteland, with the prize being the one person that makes it to the helicopter landing pad getting free passage to the higher levels of society.

There are zombies, Nazis, punks, sex, robots and Mr. T.

Mr. T?

You read that right.

And who doesn't love Mr. T?
