it was amazing
bookshelves: historical-mystery, historical-romance

I really, really enjoyed this book. The romance is secondary to the mystery but the developing relationship between the Lord Devlin (Sebastian) and his new wife, Hero is a delicately blossoming flower that enriches the book. She is equally strong willed, equally intelligen and from an equally powerful and noble background. It is a delightful book that I will reread often. The plot was good: a murder of a friend of Hero's and Hero's ruthless faather is involved, her loyalties torn. There is the additional ongoing mystery of just who is Sebastian's biological father given the appearance of a character who is close enough in looks to be his half brother. Sebastian's vindictive, narrow minded, bitter older sister makes a brief appearance...as does Kit, his previous lover.
