really liked it
Read from August 13 to 17, 2016

Pulitzer Prize winning collection of short stories.

Jhumpa Lahiri writes beautiful prose, and her descriptions, particularly of people, amaze me in their ability to convey so much character in the slightest gesture of a hand or fold of a sari. For me, some of the stories (A Temporary Matter, A Real Durwan, and Sexy) resonated more than others, though the writing throughout is moving.
