My stinky rhyme doesn't do this new book justice at all! What an awesome YA story that makes light of other traditional fairy-tales while addressing real teenage problems and issues. Well done!

The Plight and Plot of Princess Penny is the newest fairy-tale twist,
author Michael Mullin tells the tale in verse if you get my jist.
Princess Penny is learning disabled, and picked on by her school,
All because of a mean old friend who tried and sought to rule.

Penny seeks out a wicked old witch for a cure to settle all the fighting,
and she plots to bring the girl down though, without any apple biting.
A creepy little troll understands Penny's problems and doesn't want her to sink,
but Penny will barely listen to him and only learns his name is Jink.

Before too long Penny finds herself locked up by the wicked witch for stealing,
Jink tries to help, but the witch comes back and Penny starts a-squealing.
Jink tricks the witch and finds out that his magical curse has a cure,
In the end Jink turns out to be someone for Penny that was not so obscure.

The new couple now shows up at school with bullies acting like friends,
And this was an awesome story with an even better end.
I loved The Previously Untold Story of the Previously Unknown Dwarf,
but now Penny is my new favorite and I have rhymed about it like a dork.
