I think this is the best Bailey Ruth book so far. Bailey Ruth is "dispatched" to help another person in Adelaide, OK in trouble. But this time, it's a woman that in life Bailey Ruth did not like very well. And apparently, she wasn't well liked by her either! It makes for an interesting situation as Bailey Ruth tries to save her life and discover who is a murderer.

The cast of characters is a good one too! A myopic grand dame of an important family, a grieving widow who can't come to terms with her husband's death? Or are it the charlatan psychics bilking the poor widow? The widow's son, the young woman he's in love with, the conniving art dealer, the next door neighbor who's harboring a secret, or the cook who hold anger deep in her heart?

Carolyn Hart is such a good writer. If you've enjoyed her Death on Demand or Henrie O series, you will definitely like her Bailey Ruth "ghost detective" series. This is the third one and not only is it a good solid mystery, it's an interesting twist having the main character as a ghost. The first book in the series is Ghost at Work.
