I've never read the series so the plot was new to me, and the story kept me interested and entertained. I didn't have images of the characters in my head already, so the graphic depictions - stylized like many a graphic novel - were just fine by me.

Dislikes: I have to say that a male character named after Artemis, the Greek goddess of wilderness, animals, the hunt, and fertility is SO VERY WRONG. And he's a bit of a jerk. Is he always a jerk?

Likes: I found the faery universe as depicted to be an original and alternative twist on the faery realms. Plus, I liked the character of Holly.

Not sure if I'd read more of the Artemis Fowl series based on this introduction, but I also think I am not the intended audience.
