Catherine Ling grew up on the streets of Hong Kong. Her mother was a prostitute and she overdosed when Catherine was five years old, leaving her alone. Catherine vowed to never become like her mother. Catherine learned to listen to what went on around her and she traded in information. When Catherine gets word that a local gang is going to rob a local storekeeper, she races there to warn him hoping he will reward her with payment. But she gets there to late. Two members of the gang are already there beating up the storekeeper. Hu Chang is a master chemist, he not only provides the local people with medical treatment he also deals in poisons. He doesn't know what to think when a young girl rushes to his rescue. While they are hiding out together Hu Chang decides to take Catherine under his wing. Later when Catherine is recuited by the CIA she keeps in touch with Hu Chang. So when Hu Chang is in trouble Catherine rushes to save him. It seems that while working on a new medical cure Hu Chang descovers a new poison that is always fatal and untraceable. When word gets out about the poison a very evil madman decides he wants it so that he can sell it to the highest bidder. He will stop at nothing to get what he wants. It is up to Catherine, with help from John Gallo to keep Hu Chang out of the madmans hands.
