For the most part, this book is pretty good.

My current favorite is hymn 97, which contains the moving line:

Keep thou my feet; I do not ask to see the distant scene--one step enough for me.

Then there is hymn 260, which is possibly one of the most awkward hymns ever written with:

Who's on the Lords side? Who?
Now is the time to show.
We ask it fearlessly:
Who's on the Lord's side? Who?

In short, this book has many, many delightful songs, and a few that just make me cringe.
