I didn't even bother to finish this book, though I had well-intended to. I'm not one who usually picks up a book in the shop and takes it home without reading a few pages, so I was captivated by the first bit. But boy was I wrong. This is boring drivel without much plot to actually go on.

Phoebe says at one point "What do they call that prickling thing? A goose walking over your grave?" Now come on, no one would expect a London girl to mistake her metaphores like that. Doing a little research it turns out that phrase using the goose is American in origin, so she definitely wouldn't have used it.

The best word I can use to describe a girl like Phoebe is a "twerp" I'd find her extremely anoying in person and wish she'd just grow up.

I doubt I'll ever finish this novel in the future because I'd rather spend my time enjoying a book.
