Jodi Picoult is one of those authors whose books I automatically read. Lone Wolf is, by far, my least favorite.

I smugly announced after reading to page 15 that I knew how the book would go. I soon found that I was wrong, but, I just didn't care! Mainly because I found the character of Luke to be totally unlikable and didn't care what happened to him. This became more true as the story progressed. The visual image of Luke, matted hair and caked with dirt, down on all fours between wild wolves with his face sunk into a dead animal tearing it to shreads with his teeth was too much for me (and, yes, I do know that there have been real people who have lived like this with animals.) The idea of the story is a good one; with a more likable person's fate on the line, this could have been a gripping story for me.

The only reason I gave the book one star was that I was intrigued by Cara's secret.

Then came the last three pages of the book -- seriously?????
